We have tested the JBL Clip 3 Bluetooth speaker!

A few decades ago, wireless and portable speakers only existed in our imagination. However, portable, compact and wireless speakers have now become basic and accessible to anyone.
If you want a speaker that you can take with you to the beach or the bathroom, the JBL Clip 3 may be the best choice.

Features of JBL Clip 3

The JBL Clip 3 is a portable and practical Bluetooth speaker. The carabiner integrated into the speaker can be easily hung on your pants or bag and you’re ready to go. It is one of the most powerful sounding Bluetooth speakers available at this price and size.

The quality and design of the speaker is impressive. It is also aesthetically pleasing and sounds excellent.
Available in 12 colours, almost everyone can find a shade that appeals to them.
The speaker has a flat, round shape that gives it a pleasing look. The carabiner runs around the edge of the speaker, making it completely part of the speaker. There is a solid fabric cover on the front and a silicone cover on the back.

The JBL logo is visible on the front and three buttons are on the top. A middle button controls playback, call handling, and other functions, while a plus / minus button allows you to adjust the volume. You can also place the speaker lying down because the audio is output exclusively through the front panel.

The power and Bluetooth connection buttons are on the side of the device. The jack and USB connectors are  under a small cover on the bottom of the speaker.
Thanks to the built-in microphone, you can also make phone calls. With the touch of a button, you can make hands-free calls and expect clear and distortion-free communication thanks to the built-in noise and echo filter.

Sound quality

Compared to Clip 2, this model looks better in sound quality. Provides rich sound. It has 3.3-watt speakers and some acoustic improvements over its predecessor.
Clip 3 covers frequencies up to 120 Hz and 20 kHz. The bass sounds are pleasant, although they are not banging percussion due to the size of the speaker.

Outdoors, the speaker performed absolutely well, we did not experience any crackling or distortion, even at higher volumes.
However, the resulting sound levels are completely ideal for the purposes you might want to use them for. However, if you want intense bass, you need to spend more money on a larger speaker. This speaker highlights treble and midrange so the vocals are crisp and clear, but anyone dissatisfied with the bass should look for another product.

We also tried the JBL Clip 3 indoors, in a smaller office. The acoustics of the office were ideal, with broadband sound panels on the walls and ceiling and diffuser front panels that eliminated the echo, and an acoustic rug was laid on the floor. One of the most important parts of managing office acoustics is eliminating echo if you want to achieve a pleasant work environment.
If you want a perfect sound experience, be sure to take care of the acoustic treatment of the rooms.

The Clip 3 performed great indoors as well, although we found the sounds a little too deafening at high volume, but it couldn’t be otherwise with such a small speaker. The bass guitar couldn’t really stand out during the rehearsal, but it’s an acceptable compromise for such a compact, portable speaker.

Water resistance

This is one of the most useful features of the Clip 3 as it is resistant to any type of water, including harsh weather conditions. There is absolutely no need to worry about the speakers getting soaked and damaged. This speaker is the perfect choice if you take it to the beach, for a trip, or even to listen to music in the shower.
Thanks to its IPX7 rating, it can be immersed in water up to a depth of 1 meter. When it falls into the water, it does not sink, but floats.

It’s one of the smallest Bluetooth speakers on the market, but this time around, the JBL delivers legendary sound quality. Thanks to its strong, waterproof construction and durable metal buckle, it weighs roughly half a pound.
It guarantees 10 hours of playback time with the manufacturer’s 1000 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

In summary

As mentioned earlier, the design and assembly quality of this product is extremely excellent. There is no need to worry about damaging the speaker as a result of a blow, and thanks to its water resistance, neither the pool water nor the heavy rain will harm it.

The sound quality is very commendable compared to the size of the speaker. With so many colour variations, anyone can find the piece they like. The integrated metal carabiner is rugged, protects the speaker, and can be easily attached to your clothes or bag. Its range is approx. 10 meters.

The downside is the weak bass as well as the slightly high price. Sometimes it loses contact with certain devices (this is especially the case with cheaper cell phones) as well as missing the charge indicator.
Overall, this is one of the best quality and sounding Bluetooth speakers we can get at this price.
