Cleaning:

The Cubic deep sounds absorber is very easy to keep clean, it is enough to wipe it with a slightly damp cloth.

Is the performance of the deep sound absorber measurable?

There are free downloadable software to measure bass sound absorbers’ performance. First do the measuring without installing a deep sound absorber, then place the deep sound absorber in the appropriate part of the room (corner, for example) and repeat the measuring. You will not be disappointed with Perfect Acoustic’s cubic deep sound absorber’s performance, measuring results will confirm the achieved results! It is not worth trying to use cheaper, poorer quality products, sponge or styrofoam materials instead.

How to use Cubic sound traps?

Since bass tones are accumulated mostly in the corners, it is advisable to place at least two bass traps on top of each other in each corner. Corner sound traps are recommended for the corners, if we have enough space for them. For lack of space we recommend narrower or custom sized acoustic panels. If that still doesn’t work, try placing them at the height of your ear: this way, we can also control the secondary reflection point.

Panels acoustic options

Together with the bass trap broadband acoustic panel, we immediately experience a quality improvement. The basses are calmed down, the rattle from echoes decreases, and the standing waves responsible for exaggerated bass tones and extinction of higher frequencies disappear. This will result in smoother and clearer sound due to reduced reflections and echoes.

How do bass traps help create optimal acoustics?

Bass traps play an important role in absorbing bass sounds. The sizes and shape of the room also affect the acoustics. Some frequencies are further amplified and others are extinguished. The cubic bass trap was developed just for that purpose. Used it with broadband acoustic panels and diffusers, you can achieve a perfect, balanced and airy sound. Acoustic panels are the best options for noise absorption and soundproofing purposes.

Why has been the use of sound-absorbing panels become so important?

Predominance of bass sounds in the studios

As a result of the rapid development of technology and science, we can make perfect sound and music recordings even in our homes today; with the right tools and equipment of course. Smaller or larger studios, halls, rooms are usually located in buildings that were not designed based on acoustic considerations at the time. Moreover, the smaller the room, the more acoustic problems we may face. Due to the proximity of the walls, the performance of speakers and instruments is impaired by very significant reflections. Rooms are most often rectangular or square in terms of floor plan, creating standing waves and rattling echoes due to the parallel walls. These negative acoustic effects disturb our ears to an extremely large extent. Broadband sound absorbing panels and soundproofing acoustic panels provide a solution to this problem. Managing bass frequencies is a much more serious task. When several frequency phases are combined, the bass sounds are amplified at a certain frequency. These sound waves can complement or extinguish each other. As a result, the sound sources become too quiet or too loud, depending on where we are in the room. If a room has optimal acoustics, we can experience a uniform sound quality in all parts of the room with a negligible difference.

I‘ve been around every corner …”

The importance of acoustic treatment of corners should be mentioned again. Every acoustician starts the acoustic optimisation of a particular room with the corners. Since deep sounds accumulate in large amounts in the corners, it is absolutely reasonable to place bass traps there. If you duplicate the amount of bass traps in the corners, they act as sound traps to absorb excessive bass sounds. Choose the best absorption acoustic panels from our acoustic panels option.

“Teacher, please, I could’t catch that!” – or how can the membrane absorb deep sounds?

It’s not rocket science. The dense, soundproofing membrane significantly slows down those intrusive depths with a silent vibration as the bass passes through. The thermodynamic effect of the absorption, dense, fibrous acoustic cotton inside the bass traps slows down the bass sounds passing through it and then converts its acoustic energy into heat. If you have a problem below 600 Hz, you should use the soundproofing Giga bass trap.

This all sounds great, but what about the higher frequencies?

Trebles are easily absorbed by even the simplest, ordinary objects. Our furniture, curtains, all function as sound-absorbing devices, but bass sounds are proved to be a greater challenge for our furnishings. As the absorption of the bass frequency range is the most difficult to control, and it is essential to achieve the ideal surround sound at the same time, the higher tones must also be sacrificed. Absorbed trebles can also be called a collateral damage.

Even when placed behind a home theatre curtain, our bass traps work perfectly as the deep sound passes unhindered through the curtain!

The secrets of sounds

Sounds are not just part of the music world. They are present in our everyday lives in the form of speech and everyday, external noises. Not all sounds are audible to the human ear. There are certain frequencies that we cannot hear. As the sound propagates, its particles make a frictional motion. Depending on the distance, the sound constantly fades, loses its energy, and then dies completely. However, this sound energy is not lost, it is only converted into heat.

The number of vibrations of different frequencies is not the same: in the case of deeper sounds it is lower, while that of trebles is correspondingly higher. It takes more energy to move the high tones particles in the air, but for deep tones much less energy is required for propagation.

This shows that using the same energy trebles’ distance of propagation is much shorter than that of basses.

If there is a stronger sound effect in the immediate vicinity, we can hear a sharp, clicking sound, but the farther we hear the same sound effect, the deeper, thicker sounds will reach us. This is because the sound in our vicinity is composed of both basses and trebles, hence both sounds will be audible. But as the sound propagates farther away, the higher sounds with faster vibrations will weaken and eventually die completely. This way, only deep sounds with fewer vibrations will be heard.

THE TRANSMISSION OF SOUNDS

The transmission and reproduction of sound requires the right equipments. Perhaps everyone knows and has used the most common audio equipments, such as a speaker or a loudspeaker. There are countless brands and types on the market, but we can’t find one that can transmit all the sounds heard throughout the entire sound range.

Why is it impossible for one speaker to reproduce all frequencies?

The answer is given by the science of physics: because higher tones have a high number of vibration, this rapid vibration can only be executed by small membranes; in the other hand  deep sounds require a larger, rigid membrane that can no longer perform vibrations of that intensity and speed.

INTERFERENCE-WHAT IS IT? LET’S DIVE A LITTLE DEEP IN THIS TOPIC…

Why do acoustic issues occur?

When sounds start to vibrate in a room, they get to our ears, but they are soon reflected from the walls, the ceiling. The resulting sound will be confusing and unpleasant. This is actually called an echo.

When the waves of a sound reflected from the wall meet the original sound, some frequencies extinguish each other, while others tend to amplify one another. This is called sound interference. Because of this, that particular sound is heard at different intensities in different parts of the room. What we hear is the “own” sound of the room. This has rather adverse effects, since when we make subsequent adjustments, corrections to a recorded sound, and are placed next to or in front of the speakers, we may be at a point where the bass sounds extinguish each other. Obviously, in such cases we intend to raise the basses on the recording. But if we listen to this very same sound in another location later, we are shocked to find that excessive bass sounds suppress the other sounds of the recording making it the unenjoyable. Therefore, it is very important that the room where the sound is recorded, has a balanced, well-proportioned acoustics.

Absorption and soundproofing panels acoustic options

Acoustic foam has no sound absorption and soundproofing ability. Acoustic foam is not suitable for treating room acoustics. If you want effective acoustic treatment in your home or office, select our sound absorption acoustic panels, which can produce favourable results with effective sound absorption and soundproofing ability. We offer several options on our page from the best absorption and soundproofing acoustic panels. Purchasing the best noise absorption fabric and wall panel you can achieve the best results for an ideal acoustics. The best acoustic treatment can only be achieved with absorption and soundproofing acoustic panels, but avoid acoustic foams. Soundproofing curtains made of soundproofing fabric are used to cope with the windows’ surfaces. By absorption noises, the best acoustics can be obtained in your studio and office alike. We use dense absorption materials for soundproofing wall panels, please visit our webshop for more options.

What should we do to get the right acoustics for our studio?

Of course, it’s not just the echoes that need to be attenuated. The attenuation of deep sounds is a very serious task, acoustic measurements, precise design and construction are required to ensure that the bass sounds do not predominate in the room. It is not recommended to crowd our walls with rock wool, egg boxes and other similar objects that can only absorb higher sounds as they are not able to absorb deep sounds. By placing bass traps, bass-absorbing membranes, diffusers, we can attenuate direct echoes and too much bass, thus achieving a pleasant, enjoyable sound and musical experience. By eliminating the rattles from echoes and curbing the deep sounds, we will have a truly exceptional surround sound. We will not make any errors in the tone control during the post-production after recording the audio.

Remember that placing premium-quality acoustic devices with the right function is also important, because even if we buy excellent products to create the perfect acoustics, if we didn’t place them in the right positions in a given studio or room, they are less able to function at full efficiency! Perfect Acoustic also helps customers with the ideal placing of their products.

Questions and answers of the customers

Dear people of Perfect Acoustic, I've got a few questions about the Cube acoustical sound panels. The weight is 25 kg. Is this the weight of the biggest one? I'm interested in size 105 x 31 x 30 cm and I'm curious about the weight of these panels. My second question: is it possible to make a little cube panel for me if I order 2 big cube panels? A little cube panel of 30 (height) x 31 x 30 cm would be great, so that I can fill the whole corner from botton to the ceiling. Thanks for answering my questions! Best regards, Peter
